Before you install
Mac: Apple silicon (Macs from late 2020 onward)
macOS: Sonoma or newer
Account: A Safe Surfer account, including the free trial

Blocks harmful sites
Block pornography and 50+ other categories, including malware, ads, and social media. Add your own sites to block or allow, per device.
Stays with the Mac
Protection follows a MacBook onto school, work, and public networks. It does not stop when the Mac leaves your home Wi-Fi.
Managed from your account
After you connect the Mac, change filtering, screen time, and activity history from my.safesurfer.io without sitting at that computer.
Screen monitoring
During setup the Mac asks for screen recording permission. That is how Safe Surfer watches for harmful content on screen. Social media monitoring and nudity detection can be turned on for a child's Mac.
Install in three steps

Sign in
Name the Mac, sign in with your Safe Surfer account, and assign it to a person now or later.

Enable protection
In the app, open Internet Protection and click Enable Protection. Approve the configuration profiles in System Settings. Three profiles mean protection is installed.
