Over the last 5 years, Safe Surfer has worked diligently to establish a community-led not-for-profit organisation canvassing support each year to educate in online safety concerns.The mission of Safe Surfer Trust is to provide support for families and other communities to deal with the destructive influence of pornography, online bullying, and sexual predators, on the social, financial, and mental health of New Zealanders.He taonga te mokopuna, kia whāngaia, kia tipu, kia rea.  A child is a treasure, to be nurtured, to grow, to flourish.Specific services provided are:Digital Parenting PresentationsSafe Surfer is called on by local schools counselling agencies, community funders, community groups, youth groups and churches to present and run online safety and digital parenting events.Parenting ResourcesSafe Surfer produces a picture book to help parents and children discover online safety together. The Parenting Place work with Safe Surfer to build new online safety resources for parents.Web FilteringSafe Surfer Limited has premium web filtering and reporting. Safe Surfer Ltd provides Safe Surfer Charitable Trust access to Pro Surfer subscriptions for free as part of its mission (otherwise costs $7 + GST /per month). Grants need to be raised for the tech support mostly to counsellors. The service is for vulnerable families located in Bay of Plenty and they are able to have access to the service at no cost.
